Release info on land sharks: BK Chandrashekar to Deve Gowda
High command has neither interfered with the decision of the CM, says BKC
Bengaluru: Vice-president of KPCC and former chairman of the Legislative Council, Prof B.K. Chandrashekar, has asked JD(S) chief H.D. Deve Gowda to make public specific information on the rich and powerful encroaching upon land and lakes in Bengaluru.
Reacting to Mr Gowda’s recent statement that CM Siddaramaiah was inclined and serious about eviction of encroachers but his hands were tied down as he had to abide by the decision of the high command, Prof Chandrashekar queried in a statement as to how the former PM could hurl such insinuations at the high command of a party with which his party joined hands in BBMP, an organization whose responsibility was to prevent encroachments. “From what some of us know of the situation in Karnataka, and the high command’s assessment of it, the high command has neither interfered with the decision of the CM nor has it any reason to protect the interest of the rich and powerful who encroach upon public land or otherwise deplete natural resources. If the former PM has any information, contrary to our knowledge, it will serve Karnataka’s public interest if he came out with such information,” he added.
