Man held for duping 200 job seekers
Accused offered aspirants jobs in top IT firms
Kochi: The Elamakkara police on Saturday arrested a man for swindling Rs 10,000 each from over 200 job aspirants offering IT jobs in prominent IT firms across the country.
He was identified as Sandeep, 34, of Vathsalyam house at Poozhikkadu in Pandalam. He managed to win the trust of job aspirants in the name of a firm named D2F Solutions Pr-ivate Limited which he started at BTS Road in Edappally in April this year.
According to the police, he collected over '2 crore from unemployed BTech, arts and science graduates from various districts in the state by offering them jobs in IT firms like Infosys, WIPRO, TCS, IBM etc.
Many who approached him seeing his advertisements were asked to deposit Rs10,000 each as security deposit. The first month salary was also to be provided ass processing charge.
However, those who gave the money did not get any job even after months and they demanded their money back. As he refused, Ajith, 23, son of David Joseph from Cheranalloor filed a complaint at Elamakkara police station.
On Saturday, many girl students also approached the station with the same complaint. The police registered a case against him under sections 406 for breach of trust and 420 for cheating.
