Laserium being planned at Lumbini Park
Hyderabad: Lumbini Park would get a new Laserium with latest technology in multimedia laser presentation, and a gallery that can accommodate over 1,900 visitors per show.
The laser show with musical fountains over about 2.5 acre was set up by HMDA in 2004 at Lumbini Park at Tank bund. It was a huge hit. However, following the bomb blast in May 2007, and since laser equipment got old, the footfall has dropped to over 2,000 visits for the show during weekends while they are less than 500 on weekdays. With HMDA planning to have new, state-of-the-art laser equipment, video projector, aqua water screens, moving head projectors, fan fog machines, sound systems, show controls and musical fountains, the park is set to regain public esteem. The Buddha Purnima Project, HMDA officials explained, has major attractions.
“The laser show will be conducted on a theme related to the history of Hyderabad. It will have laser, animation equipment, aqua screens integrated with water jet fountains that are synchronized with music for a period of 45 minutes in the evenings. There will be one show per day and two shows per day on holidays,” HMDA sources said.
“Certain new concepts will also be developed on subjects such as the history and culture of Hyderabad and Indian mythology. By using the latest software, the multimedia show will be synchronized with musical fountains to create an impressive laser effects and graphic animation in all colours of the visible spectrum,” they added.
Earlier, HMDA-BBP officials were also working on a short film on the Telangana struggle. All major events witnessed in the making of Telangana were being documented. However, it is uncertain if this would be presented in the laser show, as officials have not taken a final decision on it.
