Kalasa-Banduri: Siddaramaiah to seek legal opinion on filing interim application

The all-party meeting held in Bengaluru focused its discussion on filing the interim application
Bengaluru: An all-party meeting held chaired by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Saturday decided to seek senior counsel Fali Nariman’s opinion on filing an interim application (IA) before the tribunal on utilisation of drinking water component in Kalasa-Banduri project.
The Chief Minister told the media here that the people of north Karnataka were demanding implementation of the much-delayed drinking water project, and wanted the government to file an IA before the tribunal. Accordingly, the all-party meeting focused its discussion on filing the interim application before the tribunal and its pros and cons.
“We will discuss with our technical and legal teams the nature of the interim application and thereafter a suitable decision will be taken,” the Chief Minister said.
Mr Siddaramaiah said that the leaders of Opposition parties would accompany him to meet Mr Nariman in New Delhi.
“After meeting him, a final decision will be taken,” he added.
Declines comment
The Chief Minister declined to comment when asked whether members of the all-party delegation would meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi again.
The Chief Minister said, “We will think about it only after meeting Mr Nariman in Delhi.”
