Chennai: In an effort to woo younger crowds, the IT wing of AIADMK organised a flash mob at Elliots beach on Saturday and caught all evening walkers by surprise. This was as part of the Founding Day celebrations and also to mark the launch of the My Leader campaign, which the IT wing is putting together to bring the party closer to the youth.
The IT wing official said since the elections were fast approaching, there was a need to keep the youth updated and excited about the future. “It is said the next elections will have the largest number of first time voters. Therefore, it is important to spread the word about voting for the right party,” he explained.
What made the flash mob all the more exciting was that the show started off with Drums Kumaran, who at just 18 years of age has a Ph.D and a Guinness record holder for playing non-stop for 50 hours. After getting pepped up by the music, just when the crowd felt they had seen it all, members of the dance group emerged and got into the groove against the background music.
