Boy dies of shock while flying kite in Hyderabad
Hyderabad: A Class V boy from Nagole area, who suffered electric shock while flying a kite, died while undergoing treatment on Saturday.
He was the son of Nagesh, a native of Mahbubnagar working as a car driver here.
Police said Nagesh, along with his wife and two kids, stayed at a rented house in New Nagole colony area. His elder son, Satish, was studying in a nearby government school. As the school was closed for Dasara vacation, he and his three friends were flying kites in an open area near their house. The kite got struck in the high tension electric cables passing through the area.
“Satish and his friends climbed on the roof of a house belonging to Bheem Reddy. The cables were very close to the building. Satish took an aluminum rod lying on the floor and tried to pull the kite, resulting in the mishap,” said Chaitanyapuri nspector G. Naveen Kumar.
Satish suffered more than 60 per cent burns.
He was rushed to Gandhi Hospital for treatment, but died while doctors were treating him. A case of suspicious death under section 174 has been registered.
