The kidneys were donated to two six-year-old children undergoing treatment at Vellore Christian Medical College and the heart valve was taken to Madras Medical Mission in Chennai.
Saina’s organs were airlifted from Nedumbas-sery airport to Chennai airport on Friday morning. Saina was brought to AIMS from Thrissur Jubilee Medical Mission after a clot formation in her brain aggravated.
Saina’s parents belonging Kozhikode consented for organ donation after Fr George Kannamplackal, director of Divya Hridaya Ashram, near Peechi Dam, Thrissur, run by MCBS Congregation, counselled them in this regard. The child was residing in the ashram for some months now.
The doctors said that the organs of children can be transplanted in children alone and since no recipient was available in the state itself, the organs were taken to Chennai.
