Rajasthan summon Rajat Bhatia
New Delhi: Veteran all-rounder Rajat Bhatia had something to cheer for after getting a late NoC from DDCA as Rajasthan have summoned him for trials in Jaipur on October 19.
Bhatia, who was dropped from Ranji squad at the behest of skipper Gautam Gambhir was left in the lurch as no one from DDCA informed the 37-year-old that he won't be picked this season. With the date of inter-state transfer over, he was under pressure as he was afraid of missing an entire first class season.
"Well, the BCCI appointed ad hoc committee has asked me to report in Jaipur for trials for Rajasthan Ranji team on October 19. The board appointed selectors will have a look at me at the net session. I am thankful to BCCI that my NoC has been processed and I have chance to play first-class cricket," Bhatia told PTI on Saturday.
According to sources, BCCI and DDCA vice-president CK Khanna, who is a member of Rajasthan's ad-hoc committee, has been sympathetic after the selectors dropped an utility player without informing him about the move.
