Six lakh people have taken job cards

Khammam: The officials of MNREGS are facing problems in recovering the money from the employees who resorted to corruption in various works in the district. It is difficult to the officials to find out the addresses of many of the suspended employees. Though criminal cases have been filed against them but these employees changed their houses.
Irregularities have been found in 348 works in the district and the role of assistant project officers, engineering consultants, technical assistants, field assistants and computer operators was unearthed in the auditing. Charge memos were issued to 3,450 employees and 219 employees were removed from the service after finding the misuse of funds.
Irregularities were found in 36 mandals in the district and criminal cases were filed against 89 persons. About Rs 2.14 crore was misused in 400 works. Six lakh people have taken job cards
