Europe study to make Andhra Pradesh capital
Government will give final touches to the master plan of the new capital
Hyderabad: In tune with his promise to the people of the State that he would develop a world class capital city, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is dispatching four different teams comprising IAS and IPS officers to Europe, Eurasia, China and other countries to study the modern cities.
The tour package has been cleared for these teams with a rider to spend as less as they can and submit a report within one week after completion of their visit, specific with well-defined outputs that could be adopted for development of Amaravati and other cities in the State.
Though there is criticism that Mr Naidu is found of development in foreign countries and gets easily carried away by the ultra-modern infrastructure in those countries, senior officials said the fact that Singapore government has already submitted master plans for development of Amaravati and yet Naidu approving to send teams to various countries to study modern cities shows his determination and commitment” to build a world class capital city.
The idea is to incorporate all the modern infrastructural and architectural elements of all these modern cities in the construction of a Amaravati capital city. These teams will start on October 25, exactly three days after the foundation ceremony of Amaravati.
Energy Secretary Ajay Jain, APCRDA commissioner N Srikanth, DGP JV Ramudu and additional DGP NV Surendra Babu will lead one team each. The teams will visit Musdar, Ashgabat, Astana and Vienna in 'Europe/Eurasia Cluster' and Suzhou, Wuxi, Hangzhou and Songdo in 'China Cluster' besides paying a visit to Brasilia and Curitiba in 'Europe/Eurasia Cluster'.
Based on their findings, the government will give final touches to the master plan of the new capital.
