Accused duo had attacked policemen earlier
The duo had escaped after attacking a police inspector just four months ago
Bengaluru: The police investigations into the gruesome murder of Doddaballapura Town PSI S Jagadish has revealed that this is not the first time the accused - Madhu and Krishnappa - has attacked cops. In fact, the duo had escaped after attacking a police inspector just four months ago.
Police sources told DC that four months ago, an inspector attached to Tarikere sub division in Chikkamagaluru district, was attacked by Madhu and Krishnappa. “As we launched the probe, all the details related to the accused was verified. As they are very active in Shivamogga and Chikkamagalur districts, the counterparts there were contacted. It is learnt that Madhu had attacked a Police Inspector in Tarikere when he along with his staff had gone to arrest him. Madhu had took out a knife and tried to stab the inspector. Fortunately, the inspector guarded himself by blocking his hand. He escaped with minor injuries in his hand while Madhu managed to give slip to the cops,” a senior official said.
“Once criminals escape from the police after attacking them, they tend to do it whenever police are behind them. This is what happened when PSI Jagadish went to catch the duo,” the official added.
The accused have cases against them in Vidyaranyapura, Bhadravathi, Belur, Madanayakanahalli and other police stations.
