Financier cheats people of Rs 2-crore, goes missing

Hyderabad: A private financier who collected money from nearly 60 persons, went missing in Keesara. The accused collected up Rs 2 crore from the victims as chit installments.
R. Mallesh is a resident of Cheriyal village in Keesara mandal. He is running private chit fund in the village for more than ten years.
Since he was from the same village and known to many of the villagers, they trusted him and joined the chit fund. Each person invested around Rs 10 lakh with the accused. “I have deposited Rs 12 lakhs in the past six years. He promised us to return the amount in the begi-nning of 2015. But when we asked him he was delaying.” said Navne-etha, one of the victim.
When he did not return the amounts, the depositors started pressurising him for their money. “He collected nearly Rs 2 crores from nearly 60 villagers. He even borrowed amount from few of them. He along with his family are missing from their home for the past three days.” said Keesara inspector, Mr Gurava Reddy.
Mallesh locked up his house and went missing along with his wife and children. Based on a complaint from the victims, a cheating case under section 420 is registered. Police is investigating the case.
