Ekta Kapoor has a penchant for having her leading men play rockstars in her shows

Television’s heartthrob Karan Kundra is teaming up with mentor Ekta Kapoor for a new show Yeh Kahan Aa Gaye Hum on &TV. The actor plays a rockstar scion of a music empire in the soap. Launched on Thursday with much fanfare, the show is a musical romance between small town girl and a rockstar.
The actor owes his stint on the small screen to Ekta, we heard. “I first saw Karan on Facebook and found him very handsome. I gave his photo to my team. He did not know acting during Kitni Mohabbat Hai days, but one thing was for sure — his smile is amazing” said the TV czarina who was fashionably late, by two hours, for the launch.
Ekta Kapoor has a penchant for having her leading men play rockstars in her shows. When asked about this, Ekta said, “There is always a dearth of rockstars in the country and I think being a rockstar is every Indian’s biggest aspiration.” When asked if this show will take the saas-bahu route as well, she retorted, “I will stop making saas-bahu shows once people stop watching them”.
