The Chinese smartphone startup, which has been teaching us how to count, is now ready to give you a free OnePlus 2 handset in exchange of your older smartphone. However, the campaign seems rather stupid than beneficial. OnePlus wants you to exchange your Samsung Galaxy S6, S6 Edge or Note 5 with their flagship 2.
#TakeTheEdgeOff is a new campaign from OnePlus and it seems like they are especially targeting the big Android rival, Samsung. The campaign announces, ‘Trade your Samsung Galaxy S6, S6 Edge, S6 Edge + or Note 5 for a brand new OnePlus 2!’. The deal does not look tempting at all as the flagships are far superior than the OP2, both in terms of performance, and premium looks. The exchange or trade-in campaign seems to be a marketing tactic since OnePlus wants to donate your handset to charity and replace your smartphone with a free OP2 from their side.
OP seems to be catching up with similar marketing as that of Apple and Samsung. The two rivals were also in the similar spot with trade-in offers. All the three brands seem to have a single similar motive in mind—convert the rival smartphone user / fan into a OnePlus user.
Well, we too were surprised with the unique offer since the Samsung flagships are prices almost twice that of the OnePlus 2. We think they should at least offer two 2’s in exchange of the Galaxy.
