Protests continued on Thursday as well with students asking the university to conduct students union elections soon.
Hyderabad: Students of English and Foreign Languages University conducted an event called ‘Requiem for Eflu: Cultural Night and University General Body Meeting’ on Wednesday night as they protested demanding “restoration of democracy” in the university.
Protests continued on Thursday as well with students asking the university to conduct students union elections soon. However, students said that the protests were not on only that issue but, as a PhD student put it, a result of “culmination of anger and frustration for the past few months over the attitude of university administration which has been nothing short of dictatorial”.
A senior varsity official, however, said that they are not against students’ right to protest but it must be apolitical.
