While you get to see one castle, it was actually shot in six different castles
Mumbai: When the news of 'Shaandaar' being a destination wedding spilled out, we knew we were in for lavish, outlandish sets. Vikas Bahl's film starring Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt has been shot in breathtakingly beautiful locations. The makers released a video which will give a glimpse of the grand locations the film has been shot in.
While you get to see one castle in the film, the unit actually shot in six different castles in Yorkshire area. The exterior of the castle is based on Carlton Towers, North Yorkshire. But there were many more castles were the interiors were shot. The film has also been shot in Broughton Hall in North Yorkshire, Eddsfield Airfield in East Yorkshire, Low Force Waterfall in County Durham, Goathland Station in North Yorkshire, Saltburn Beach to name a few.
The team had a ball while shooting for the film. The director signed off by saying, "Just to resist partying and working was a tough choice. So in between of our partying, we used to shoot whenever we got time."
