Two cops deputed for Dasara fest charged with negligence in Vijayawada

Vijayawada: Two cops deputed on special security duties atop Indrakeeladri Hill were reportedly suspended due to negligence in duty on the wee hours of Tuesday.

The two officials, who were noticed in an inebriated state, were suspended for sleeping inside the guestroom ignoring the rules set by the police department.

The accused cops were here to perform special duties for the ten-day-long Dasara festival.

The police officials are however tightlipped about the incident and remained reluctant to reveal the details of the duo cops involved in negligence.

“The duo cop has been given warning and we will take strict action if anybody is found to be negligent in performing duties,” said I-Town CI P. Venkateswarlu.
