Bengaluru: 14,280 driving licences suspended
The first-time offenders, who got their licences suspended over a period of three to six months
Bengaluru: Since January the traffic police department has written to the transport department recommending suspension of 14,280 licences across the city among the 56 lakh offenders, who have been booked for various traffic violations. The first-time offenders, who got their licences suspended over a period of three to six months, were booked mainly for drunken driving and footpath riding.
The others who got their licences suspended were third time offenders or repeated violators of various traffic offences including riding without helmet, using mobile phones while driving/riding, not wearing seat belt, triple riding, rash and negligent driving, etc.
