Hyderabad: Burglars entered the house of a software developer by removing window grills and fled with gold jewellery weighing around 25 tolas worth Rs 6.5 lakh and Rs 50,000. The incident happened on Tuesday night when the family was sleeping in the house.
The software developer, G.S. Bhaskaran, 48, his wife Premalatha and son are staying in a three bedroom independent house in Ram Gopal Enclave. On Tuesday night Bhaskaran and his son slept in one of the bedrooms.
At around 12.30 in the night Premalatha went to sleep in the hall. The other two bedrooms were empty as his mother was out of town. When Bhaskaran woke up at around 4.30 am he found one of the two bedrooms latched from inside.
“He tried to open but when it did not open he went behind the house and found that the window grill had been removed.
Burglars entered the house by removing the grill, said Bowenpally detective inspector Satish Reddy.
Everyone in the house were asleep when the incident happened. The burglars took jewellery from the almirah in one bed room, entered the other bedroom and stole jewellery and cash from it also.
