Exclusive: Amit Trivedi reacts on the 'Shaandaar' song copied from Coldplay Oceans

Mumbai: Known for his melodious compositions, talented Amit Trivedi’s latest album ‘Shaandaar’ however has come under scrutiny. After 'Lootera', music composer Amit Trivedi is caught in another plagiarism controversy. One of the songs 'Nazdeekiyaan' from 'Shaandaar' which features Shahid and Alia allegedly sounds heavily influenced by Coldplay-Oceans. Coldplay-Oceans was launched last year in June and few months later work on 'Shaandar' had started.

While initially Amit did not respond to our messages, he eventually spoke to us. Amit Trivedi broke his silence and said, “I swear on my music, I didn’t copy it at all. I will quit music if I would ever do plagiarism. There are seven music notes, which are used in the entire world. It’s purely a coincidence that my song is similar to this one. I don’t even know about this song. I will surely listen to Coldplay-Oceans after this.”
