Dubai: Cricket's governing body on Tuesday directed Bangladesh to make appropriate safety plans if they want to host next year's Junior World Cup after Australia called off their tour this month citing terrorism fears.
Australia's decision to call off their two Tests was followed by the cancellation of the South African women's tour, casting doubts over the biennial Junior World Cup from January 22 to February 14.
But after a two-day meeting of its Executive Board in Dubai, the International Cricket Council (ICC) decided to keep the event in Bangladesh, pending security clearance.
"The Board confirmed that the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) will host next year's ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup," said an ICC statement.

— ICC (@ICC) October 13, 2015The ICC added that they were working with the government on "developing an appropriate security plan that addresses all security risks".
Bangladesh is the second country in the cricketing world to be hit by security fears with Pakistan forced to play all their home matches on the neutral venues of United Arab Emirates since 2009 terrorists' attacks on the Sri Lankan team bus.
Those attacks suspended all international cricket in the country.
Pakistan's six-year isolation ended in May-June this year when they hosted Zimbabwe for a limited over series but top countries are still concerned about safety and are unwilling to tour the country.
