THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The much-awaited Cyber Dome of the state police to combat cyber attacks will be formally commissioned in November.
IG Thiruvananthapuram-range, Mr. Manoj Abraham, who has been spearheading the initiative, said that the works on the facility at Technopark were almost over.
“We plan to inaugurate the facility by November 15,” he said while speaking at an international workshop on cyber threat resilience at Technopark on Tuesday.
Mr. Abraham said that about 500 ethical hackers and over 50 IT firms had already offered to work with the Cyber Dome. Apart from preventing and probing hacking attacks, the Cyber Dome would do social media monitoring, check child pornography, conduct awareness initiatives and offer public services like passport and visa verification, automated crime intelligence and even traffic solutions.
