Chandrababu Naidu to seek Rs 3 lakh crore from Centre
Hyderabad: The size of the financial package to be announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on October 22, the day he lays the foundation stone of Amaravati, is being debated among TD and BJP cadres.
The question being asked is whether it will be better than the Rs 1.60-lakh crore package announced for Bihar on the eve of the Assembly polls, or not.
It is learnt that Mr Modi has decided to look into the ‘draft package’ proposal on October 20 and may make some changes.
According to a Union minister, CM N. Chandrababu Naidu will meet Mr Modi on Wednesday and will press for a package of Rs 3 lakh crore. The minister said “the PMO, Niti Ayog officials and I are preparing a draft package which would be submitted to the PMO by October 18.”
Mr Naidu, along with other CMs who are part of the sub-group constituted by the Niti Ayog, will meet the PM on Wednesday to present the recommendations. Sources said Mr Naidu would formally extend the invitation to Mr Modi.
