Watch: Quadriplegic man dances with wife for the first time
More often than not the most powerful love stories happen is something we witness around us in real life and not between the pages of a romance novel. A quadriplegic man, who was paralysed in a car crash, could finally savour the moment when he had his first dance with his wife. This was possible because of a ‘zero-gravity’ harness at his rehabilitation gym, reports the Metro.
The video shows the love-struck couple enjoying the classic first dance shuffle to “I’ll be” by Edwin McCain playing over the stereo in the background. Joel Jackson had married his wife Lauren in 2013, years after his accident in 2009. His spine was separated from his head when a car he was travelling in crashed into a telephone pole.
Reportedly, Joel described the experience at the Brooks Rehab centre in Jacksonville, Florida as ‘euphoric’ via a computer. He and Lauren have known each since they were 14 and had begun dating in 2012.
