Salim Merchant croons his first Tamil song

Salim Merchant, the happening Bollywood music composer makes his Tamil debut with the film Ko 2, a sequel to the earlier blockbuster Ko. Young music director Leon James has roped Salim for the album Kannamma Reprise. Talking about bringing him on board, an excited Leon says, “Even as I was composing the track, I made up my mind that it should be rendered by Salim sir. I love his voice, which has depth and emotion. And when I suggested the idea to producer Elred Kumar, he too agreed to it. I sent him the song via email and he was quick to respond and said that he would love to record it. It was an inspiring moment.”

Salim who recently recorded the Kannamma number says he was bit nervous initially. “I was quite tensed because it is such a beautiful song and you have to give your 100 per cent! I think I delivered what Leon expected from me (laughs). I thoroughly enjoyed singing my first song in Tamil. When you do good music which comes from your soul, you feel so complete.”
