AP minister draws flak for purchasing Agri Gold lands
GUNTUR: The YSR Congress on Monday accused AP agriculture minister P. Pullarao of purchasing lands belonging to the scam-tainted firm, Agri Gold at a throwaway price in his wife's name and selling it for huge profits, and produced documents to back the accusation.
YSRC Guntur district president Marri Rajasekhar alleged that Mr Pullarao purchased about 35 acres of land at two separate places from the company and got it registered in his wife P.T. Venkayamma'as name. Mr Rajasekhar also accused the minister of being the kingpin behind a Rs 400-Rs 500 crore cotton purchase fraud, and demanded a CBI-CID inquiry into the allegations, besides his removal from the Cabinet.
The YSRC leader said that Mr Pullarao purchased 15 acres of land in Gurijepalli village of Santhamaguluru mandal in Prakasam district and another 20 acres of land in Chimakurthi village, in the name of his wife P.T. Venkayamma.
"If the CM doesn't sack Pullarao immediately, people will begin to believe the rumours that the minister had given Rs 50 crore to Naidu for a Cabinet berth," Mr Rajasekhar said. He also alleged that Mr Pullarao purchased poor quality cotton from farmers and sold it at a high price.
