Thin-nest Win10 PC

The 'Panache Air PC' is powered by an Intel Atom quad-core processor

'Thin PC' is a term loosely used to describe desktop 'slave' units with little compute power of their own, connected to a central server. It may be time to revisit this definition. PCs have literally become very thin after Intel released its design for the Compute Stick, which offers the full muscle of a PC, short of display, keyboard and mouse.

Mumbai-based Vardhaman Technology's brand, 'Panache Air PC' has beaten a whole lot of PC, tablet and laptop makers by launching a PC-on-stick device, preloaded with the new Windows 10 operating system.

Insert the Air PC into a LED, LCD TV, display or even a projector, using the HDMI port and you convert it into a fully functional PC. The ultra-small device, is just 10cm long, and is powered by an Intel Atom “Bay Trail” (1.33GHz) quad-core processor along with 2 GB DDR3 RAM, 16GB/32GB memory which is expandable to 128GB.

It latches on to your Wi-Fi hotspot through Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and requires its own power connection. You will also need a mouse and keyboard. The Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity will make this easier as the alternative is to use a USB hub to connect mouse and keyboard through the single micro USB port provided.

The Panache Air PC costs Rs 9,999 (16GB) and 10,999 (32GB version). This 'Made in India' PC stick has beaten, makers the world over, to offer the first Windows 10-loaded system in this Lilliput size. Jai Ho!
