Woman alleges kidnap, rape in Hyderabad
Hyderabad: A 33-year-old woman approached the Kamathipura police on Sunday alleging that she had been kidnapped and raped by four men at an office room near Rama Talkies.
The victim came to the police station early in the morning and stated that the men had forcefully picked her up in a car near the Central Mall at Panjagutta and brought her to Kamathipura.
While the police has taken two traders into custody, they have also found a few contradictions in the victim's statement.
The victim, a resident of Asifnagar area and mother of five, said that she had gone to Panjagutta as part of her cloth business.
“She stated that the men came in a car while she was standing near the mall and forcefully pulled her inside the car. They drove to a place in Kamathipura, where they took her inside a building, which looked like an office. They raped her and escaped, leaving her there,” said Kamathipura Inspector B. Ramesh.
As per the victim's statement, they abandoned her after 1 am. Later, she called her husband, who took her to the police station to lodge a complaint.
“They came to the police station in the early hours and gave a complaint. We booked a case for rape and kidnap, and have started investigation,” said the inspector.
Police officials, however, said that there were contradictions in her statement as a few points she had said earlier appeared different from what she said when she elaborated the incident in the petition. “We are verifying CCTV footages around the Central Mall, where she was allegedly kidnapped. A few other evidences have also to be verified,” said Ramesh.
The victim was sent for medical examination as part of the investigation. Cops said that there was no injury on her body.
