Hyderabad: Even after more than 24 hours, officials could not retrieve the body of Lakshmi who committed suicide by jumping into the Musi on Saturday morning.
The rescue team found it difficult due to the increased flow in the river due to the rains on Friday night.
Lakshmi, 38, and her four-year-old daughter Malathi came out from their home on Friday morning and jumped from the bridge near Kamela at Kacheguda. Malathi’s body was recovered by Friday noon but Lakshmi’s body could not be retrieved.
The operation continued on Sunday morning with personnel from the police and GHMC central emergency squad and entomology participating.
“We found a red sari floating but none of her relatives confirmed that it was hers. We are still trying but the flow has increased due to the rains,” said central emergency squad inspector Uday Kiran.
