Ink attack: Police registers FIR against unidentified men
Mumbai: Police on Monday registered an FIR against unidentified persons for blackening the face of ORF chairman Sudheendra Kulkarni ahead of the launch of former Pakistan Foreign Minister Khurshid Mahmud Kasuri's book launch.
"An FIR has been filed under relevant sections of IPC by the Antop Hill police in this connection," Deputy Commissioner of Police (Detection) Dhananjay Kulkarni said.
A complaint was registered by Kulkarni himself this afternoon, police said.
The case has been registered under sections 341 (wrongful restraint), 147 (rioting), 336 (act endangering life or personal safety of others), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace), 506 (criminal intimidation) and other relevant sections, they added.
Police said around six to seven unidentified persons also shouted slogans against ORF, a foreign policy think-tank, which has organised a book-launch event involving Kasuri.
"We are searching the accused who are purportedly connected with Shiv Sena", they said.
Earlier in the day, a black paint was sprayed on Sudheendra for not bowing down to Sena's diktat seeking cancellation of events having Pakistani connection.
