Dadri lynching: After PM advice, Rajnath Singh pins blame on UP government
Lucknow/New Delhi: Amid the intense blame game over the Dadri lynching incident, Union home minister Rajnath Singh on Friday said law and order is the “prime responsibility of the state government” and the Constitution does not permit the Centre to directly intervene in such matters.
Commenting on Samajwadi chief Mulayam Singh's remarks that two persons involved in the Muzzafanagar riots had a hand in the Dadri incident, Mr Rajnath Singh said the BJP neither believed nor indulged in politics of caste or religion.

“It could be true that some persons might be trying to derive mileage by creating communal tension, but in a healthy democracy this should not be done,” he said.
Incidentally, the blame game over the horrific incident intensified a day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed an election rally in Bihar asking people to follow the path of peace, unity and tolerance shown by President Pranab Mukherjee on Wednesday.
