No arrests in techie’s rape case

Hyderabad: No arrests have been made yet in the alleged gang rape of a 23-year-old techie. The city police, however, registered a case based on the court orders and started investigation. The victim filed a private petition at the Miyapur Court complaining that she was raped by her employer and two of his friends, while his other friends helped him. The court after examining the details directed the police to register a case.
The victim is a divorcee and stays at Ayyappa Society in Madhapur, with her five- year-old son. She joined a firm run by the prime accused Ramana as a marketing manager. In her petition before the court, the victim stated that she had developed a relation with Ramana in the course of her employment. Due to this, he did not pay her salary also.
He allegedly promised to marry her and help her in her son’s education. However, he said to have defaulted on her salary amounting to Rs 3 lakh after sufferred losses in the business. When she questioned him, he along with his friends reportedly threatened the victim.
In September, the victim claimed she was confined at her flat and was forced to consume alcohol. When she became unconscious, she claimed Ramana and his friends Rajesh and Kiran had raped her. His other friends Vasu, Ravi, Janaki and Madhu helped the trio to rape her.
Based on the court orders, a case was registered under Sections 420, 313, 376 and 506 read with 34. “We are investigating the details. Based on that we will proceed further.” said Madhapur Inspector Mr Narsimhulu.
