AR Rahman is on a new ‘cultural’ assignment
Oscar winner and music maestro AR Rahman has got another honour, for his impact on global music and cinema. This time the Minstry of Tourism and Culture of Seychelles has bestowed him with an interesting assignement. They named ARR as the Cultural Ambassador for Seychelles, for his contribution to the development of arts and culture in their country.
A delighted Rahman shared the news and an image of the certificate he received with his fans on social media. “With love and regards to the people and government of Seychelles,” he captioned the picture. On a closer look at the certificate, one can read, “The Seychelles Ministry of Tourism and Culture proudly names A.R. Rahman Cultural Ambassador for Seychelles in appreciation for the invaluable services contributed to enhance Seychelles’s Art and Cultural development.”
One may also recall that ARR was invited as the Cultural Ambassador by American President Barrack Obama for the prestigious State dinner that was hosted by him to honour Dr. Manmohan Singh on his official visit to USA, a few years ago.
