Deepika Padukone to launch her foundation on 'World Mental Health Day'

Prominent figures from politics, sports and entertainment industries will join her
Mumbai: After making her mark in Bollywood, actress Deepika Padukone is all set to campaign for a good cause. The actress who opened up about her struggle with anxiety and depression, is all set to launch her own foundation that deals with the mental condition.
October 10, that is observed as World Mental Health Day, Deepika will launch her ‘Live Love Laugh’ foundation that will help spread awareness and mobilise support to make mental health care a reality in the city. She will be joined in by a host of other stars and public figures from different fields including politics, sports and the entertainment industry.
According to reports, Deepika has called on her friend and former co-star Shah Rukh Khan, to lend his star power to the cause. However, SRK will be busy with 'Dilwale' and hence won't be joining her. Reports also state that Aamir Khan has also got the invite, but may not be able to attend because of his ongoing ‘Dangal’ shooting schedule.
According to previous interviews, the actress realised her condition after feeling ‘different’ while shooting for her 2014 Diwali blockbuster ‘Happy New Year’. She confessed that she only sought help, when she heard of the suicide of a friend who also suffered with anxiety and depression.
With her new foundation, the actress hopes to help people suffering with this common ailment. She also aims at removing the stigma attached with this illness, that often results to it being left untreated.
