Ram Charan’s Trujet tops in customer complaints
Hyderabad: Filmstar Ram Charan’s Trujet topped the list of airlines with the most customer complaints and second worst in the flight cancellations in August. On Thursday night too, Trujet flight 2T 106 on the Aurangabad-Hyderabad - Tirupati route was cancelled after it reached Hyderabad, leading to irate flyers protesting on the parking bay at GMR airport.
A Director General of Civil Aviation report revealed that Air Pegasus and Trujet topped the list with more than five per cent cancellations of flights in August. The number of passenger complaints too was the highest in Trujet’s case, according to the DGCA.
According to GMR officials, the Trujet flight on Thursday had landed at Hyderabad from Aurangabad and was about to leave for Tirupati after boarding. “But due to weather problems, the flight returned to Hyderabad. It happened around 8.30 pm. Travelers staged a sit out in protest on the parking bay and entered into heated arguments with the crew.
They demanded another flight to be arranged but due to some issues it couldn’t be done. “CISF personnel interfered and brought the passengers from the parking bay into the airport lounges. The arguments and protests continued in the airport lounge too. They were then shifted to hotels and various other flights were arranged. As most of the passengers had booked puja tickets in Tirupati, they were worried,” said a source at GMR Hyderabad airport.
According to the DCGA, in July 2015, Air Costa topped the list with a 4.67 per cent cancellation rate. In on-time performance Vistara has been doing well with lesser cancellations.
However, despite more cancellations, Air Pegasus and Air Costa tops the “on-time performance” list according to DGCA.
When contacted, a Turbo Aviation official on condition of anonymity said, “We are operating only two aircraft currently. Any start up airline will face teething problems. It is common. We have just started and everything will be on track soon.”
