Will punish culprits even if SP rule is at stake, says Mulayam Singh Yadav
Lucknow: Samajwadi supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav said on Thursday that his party would ensure strict action against the culprits in the Dadri lynching “even if we have to sacrifice the (UP state) government for it”.
Mr Yadav said “someone” was conspiring to vitiate the atmosphere in UP, and that the similarities between Dadri and the Muzaffarnagar riots made it obvious that someone was trying to disturb the state.
“Three persons are responsible for what happened. We are trying to verify this, and as soon as this is done, I will disclose the names,” he said. Two persons were, meanwhile, arrested on Thursday for spreading rumours on social media sites on the incident.
Greater Noida district magistrate N.P. Singh said one person was arrested from Jewar, and another in Surajpur. The cyber cell was keeping a close watch on those spreading rumours, he said.
District officials held peace meetings as the family of Mohammed Iqlakh, lynched on September 28, returned to Bishada village after spending some time at a Air Force facility in Delhi.
