Telangana project gets NOC for funds
Hyderabad: The ongoing Mission Kakatiya programme launched by TRS government to restore the irrigation tanks in the state on Thursday received a big boost from the Central Government after it gave formal consent to the Trust, especially set up for the purpose, to receive foreign donations.
In a letter to the chief functionary of the Mission Kakatiya Trust (chief engineer, minor irrigation department), the Centre accorded sanction for the Trust to mobilise donations or contributions from foreign nationals for a period of five years.
However, the Centre clearly advised the state government to adhere to the various guidelines, rules and regulations concerning the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act, 2010.
As per the Act, any foreign donation towards Mission Kakatiya can be deposited in the SB/CA Account No. 62400709179, of State Bank of Hyderabad, Punjagutta Branch.
Minster for irrigation T. Harish Rao, in a statement, thanked the central government for the clearance. He praised T. Ramachandru, State Special Representative in Delhi, for his efforts in getting the clearance.
“Now, donations can be accepted online for the Mission Kakatiya Trust (www.missionkakatiya.cgg.gov.in), from anywhere in the world,” Mr Harish Rao said, appealing to the Telangana NRI community to come forward and contribute generously.
