KPCC braces for cyberwar
According to sources, close to 400 volunteers from across the state will participate in the workshop

Social media savvy Thiruvananthapuram MP Shashi Tharoor and V T Balram are among those who'll address the delegates in two separate sessions.
Kochi: Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee has convened a one-day workshop for all its social media warriors to help fight the cyber war in the upcoming local body elections.
Trainers from AICC and KPCC will lead the workshop at Indira Bhavan , Thiruvananthapuram on October 13. The closed-door workshop is planned to equip and enable social media volunteers promote the party on social media sites and help it win the polls.
According to sources, close to 400 volunteers from across the state will participate in the workshop. KPCC President V M Sudheeran, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala would address the delegates.
Thiruvananthapuram MP Shashi Tharoor and V T Balram will also talk to the delegates in two separate sessions. Tharoor boasts of being the most followed Indian on Twitter while Balram is the most active Facebook user the state Congress has.
“Since it is the local polls we are planning to promote generic issues rather than promoting regional issues" said Ranjith Balan, chairman of the IT Cell of KPCC.
“During the assembly polls we had a similar session which helped almost all candidates,” Ranjith added. According to him, the social media team will look to promote the positives of the Oommen Chandy government and expose the opposition parties.
