HMDA razes 16 layouts in Kurnoor
Hyderabad: Sixteen unauthorised layouts spread over 240 acres were demolished at Kunoor village by the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority’s (HMDA) enforcement wing on Thursday.
The HMDA and the local mandal revenue officials had detected massive illegal occupations on HMDA layouts on Wednesday.
Enforcement officer of HMDA, K. Manmohan Rao said, “Many realtors mislead buyers by selling them plots which belong to the municipal body. These are all government lands. Most of them build boundary walls and set up infrastructure at these layouts, which is illegal. Anyone selling government land will land in legal trouble."
The demolition took place at Kunoor village, on the way to Bhongir.
On Wednesday, the HMDA, along with Mandal Revenue officials had inspected areas in around Kunoor and Yadgirigutta and found HMDA layouts to be occupied.
The demolitions were carried out on Thursday following the High Court’s directions.
