Amitabh Bachchan chased by tiger for four kilometres
Mumbai: Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan made his first public appearance as the Maharashtra’s ambassador for tiger preservation on Tuesday. At the event held at Mumbai’s Sanjay Gandhi National Park, the actor expressed happiness about the tiger population in the state being much better than that of other states.
Speaking about the dwindling tiger population, the actor said that it was the responsibility of all Indian citizens and the government to help save this majestic species. The actor kick started his tenure with a jungle safari in the National Park and was accompanied by ministers and politicians.
During the safari, he was thrilled to see a big cat following his vehicle. He later took to his social networking handles to share his experience. The actor revealed with a series of tweets and Facebook posts that he was ‘chased’ by the wild cat for 4 kms.
“In the company of the Big Cat, in the heart of the city. You cannot imagine the forests that abound in the heart of urban Mumbai. This tiger chased us for 4 km, very unusual. They do not normally do this. It is in the SGNP Reserve, right within the Film City, where we work so often. Incredible!” Amitabh Bachchan wrote on Facebook.
