The film has been on a back burner since a long time
Mumbai: Shoojit Sircar who’s Piku with Mr Bachchan in the lead was one of the most talked-about films of this year has earlier worked with the mega-star in Shoebite. For reasons best known to its producers, UTV, the film never got released until now. We now hear there are plans to revive that film and bring it to the screen. Says the Big B, “Yes Shoojit and I have worked in Shoebite, titled by him now as Johnny Walker. The film is ready, but has been lying unrewarded by release. UTV has it, and they need to be asked why it has not seen the light of day.”
Finally attempts to convince UTV to release the beautiful film about a 60-plus man who sets out on a journey on his feet, is bearing fruition. The film features Sarika opposite the Big B ad may soon make it into theatres. Says the Big B excitedly, “We have spoken to various people connected with this issue and there has been a compassionate response. There are, I am given to understand, certain legal matters with the corporate involved. These need sorting. Once that is out of the way, I presume it shall be in theatres.” and what better gift for the mega-star on his birthday next week?
