10 killed as bus, truck collide in Nalgonda
Hyderabad: At least 10 people were killed and 15 seriously injured when an RTC bus collided with a truck in Nalgonda district on Wednesday evening. The incident occurred at Indrapalanagaram of Ramannapet mandal. Police officials said that the death toll was likely to go up as the condition of most of the victims was critical.
Nalgonda SP Vikramjit Duggal said that around 33 people were traveling in the bus when the accident took place. The dead include five men including the driver, four women, and a two-year-old boy, officials said. The boy, T. Akshit, was from Uppal. His parents, who were also traveling in the bus, escaped with injuries.
The bus, which belongs to the Narketpally Depot, was going to Bhuvanagiri from Nalgonda. Witnesses said that due to the massive head-on collision, the bus went off the road and overturned in the fields. “Both the bus and the truck overturned due to the collision. The bus went off the road,” said Mr Duggal.
The injured were rushed to Bhongir, Rammannapet and Kamineni Hospitals. A team has been sent to Rammannapet from Nalgonda Government General Hospital
