Amoral district educational officer to be probed
Kurnool: Kurnool district educational officer Suprakash will be investigated by the Andhra Pradesh government for alleged sexual harassment of women teachers.
He has been accused of making sexually suggestive comments, apart from harassing women.
According to sources, he asked a woman teacher to come at night to do an audit.
In another instance, when a woman teacher approached him through another teacher seeking deputation, he allegedly said: “why deputation when a wife’s post is vacant with me.”
Suprakash’s family members stay at Hyderabad and he stays alone in Kurnool in a rented house at Venkataramana Colony. Reports said the official had been evicted by locals of Abbasnagar, where he used to stay previously.
The official allegedly resorted to sexual acts in his office which were recorded and have gone viral on Whatsapp.
Based on this, HRD minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao ordered the Kadapa regional joint director to inquire into the matter.
District collector Ch Vijaya Mohan said that the audio tapes have been sent for voice analysis. Stringent action would be initiated after the test results are received, he said.
According to sources, a team from the intelligence department has also conducted an inquiry.
