Pole crash: Cuprits not identified
Hyderabad: A day after retired bank employee Laxman Rao was killed in an accident at Trimulgherry, the police has not pinpointed those responsible. Cops are also searching for the workers who fled soon after the pole fell.
“The Electricity Depa-rtment they said that it was not their pole. They said it belonged to the SCB,” said police official B. Srinu Naik.
Police is also checking with cable firms about the workers after the TSSPDCL denied that its men were present.
"As per locals there were some workers. However, all of them ran away and we are not sure which department they belonged to," said the cop.
B. Laxman Rao, who had retired from Andhra Bank five days ago, died on the spot when a rusted pole fell on his head.
Police have booked a case for causing death due to negligence (under IPC section 304 A) against the Electricity Board, however no names or designations were mentioned in the FIR.
Lok Ayukta seeks report from police
Following the DC report of a bank employee being crushed under an electricity pole, the Lokayukta on Tuesday sought a report from the police and other concerned departments on the issue.
Advocate Mr Nagesh filed a complaint with the Lokayukta on Tuesday based on the Deccan Chronicle report and demanded action against those responsible for the death of the retired bank employee. The matter was posted to October 13 for hearing.
