Bengaluru: Mayor Manjunath Reddy said on Tuesday that based on a report by historians and Kempegowda Research Centre, the BBMP will send a proposal to the state government to develop the Kempegowda Memorial Ground.
Following demands by corporators and former corporators, the mayor paid a visit to the city founder’s ‘samadhi’ at Kempapura in Magadi. He said that historical evidence has been found which proves that Kempegowda’s ‘samadhi’ was at one of the newly found towers. “However, there are no records or historical proof to substantiate this evidence. Hence, we will ask historians to study and submit a report. Based on their report and Council suggestions, a proposal will be sent to the state government,” he said.
