Hyderabad: A software engineer working with a US-based accounting firm allegedly committed suicide at her house in the Nizampet area of Hyderabad.
The police subsequently registered a case of dowry harassment against the in-laws.
Shailaja alias Bhargavi (29) allegedly hanged herself from the ceiling with a sari, said inspector V Sreekanth Goud of KPHB police station on Wednesday.
"We got the information this morning, but it seems she had hanged herself last night itself. Based on preliminary investigation, we have registered a case of abetment of
suicide and dowry harassment against her husband and in-laws," he said.
No arrest had been made yet, Goud added. Further probe is underway in the case.
