Hyderabad: A 40-year-old man from Ranga Reddy district, who was admitted in Osmania Hospital due to toddy withdrawal symptoms, succumbed on Monday. Mallikarjun, 40, is a resident of Shivareddypet ward in Vikarabad of Ranga Reddy district. He was a daily wage earner. He was addicted to toddy.
He was normal for the last few days ago, before the toddy supply was banned in villages. Since September 23, he started behaving abnormal, displaying toddy withdrawal symptoms.
He was admitted to the Government hospital at Vikarabad. When he did not improve, he was shifted to OGH for a better treatment. He succumbed while undergoing treatment in the early hours. The body is handed over to the family after postmortem.
