Poojary seeks divine help on Yettinahole
Poojary is the main person behind renovation and development of Kudroli Sri Gokarnanatha Temple
Mangaluru: After seeking Sonia Gandhi’s help in stopping the controversial Yettinahole river diversion project, senior Congress leader B Janardhan Poojary is now seeking divine intervention!
He has now decided to pray to Lord Kudroli Sri Gokarnanatha to stop Yettinahole project and also provide alternative water project to people of arid areas of the state.
Poojary is the main person behind renovation and development of Kudroli Sri Gokarnanatha Temple in Mangaluru and has been undertaking many social revolutionary steps during Navaratri festival in the temple like appointing widows and Dalit widows as archaks in the temple.
This year, Poojary has decided to organise ‘Brahmakalashotsava,’ to pray to Lord Sri Gokarnanatha to get good rains and also stop Yettinahole project.
“Though Brahmakalashotava is usually held once in 12 years and was held during the centenary celebration of the temple (2012), we have decided to hold it this year,” Poojary said.
“We will pray to the God to stop Yettinahole project and provide alternative project to provide water to the people of parched areas of Kolar, Chikkaballapur, Tumkur and Bengaluru Rural districts. We will pray to the Lord to give wisdom to all the elected representatives to stop Yettinahole project and take alternative measures,” he said.
Poojary meanwhile denied inviting any Minister or MLAs for the programme.
“They are welcome if they want to participate but we will not invite any ministers for the programme,” he declared. Without naming BJP, Poojary vented his anger on people for organising programmes (Padayatra) to create awareness among the people about the Yettinahole project.
“Media has created awareness on the issue. People know about the project and are opposing it. Where is the need to create awareness now?” he said.
Meanwhile Poojary asked Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Social Welfare Minister H Anjaneya to provide reservations for poor Brahmins. “There are poor people in every caste and community. Let the poor among Brahmins too get reservation,” he said.
