Murder case accused hacked to death
BENGALURU: A 34-year-old murder accused was hacked to death by a gang in Kadushivanahalli village in Kanakapura taluk of Ramanagar district on Sunday afternoon. The deceased, Chandra, a farmer, hailed from Bannigeredoddi near Kadushivanahalli.
Chandra was sleeping in the porch of his relative’s house when he was attacked at around 3.15 pm. A gang of more than three people came on motorbikes and attacked him with lethal weapons, killing him on the spot, the police said.
“Chandra was an accused in the murder of rowdy Mutthu alias Mutthuraja. In 2014, Chandra and his friends had shot Mutthu dead, as he was assaulting Chandra without any provocation. Chandra was arrested in the case and put in jail for eight months. He was released on bail only three months ago. It is suspected that Mutthu’s associates eliminated Chandra to avenge Mutthu’s murder. We are on the lookout for the assailants,” said the Kodihalli police, who have registered a case.
