I haven’t taken a single penny from Vellapally, says VS Achuthanandan

Achuthanandan said Natesan tried to insult him by calling him “Shikhandi” because of his ignorance
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Opposition Leader V S Achuthanandan on Monday hit out at SNDP Yogam general secretary Vellapally Natesan saying that the true followers of Sree Narayana Guru would defeat his designs to join hands with the Sangh Parivar.
In a statement here, Achuthanandan said; “Its a fight between true followers of Guru and Natesan welfare sabha. I am with true followers while Vellapally represents the Natesan welfare sabha.”
On Vellapally’s claim that Tushar had campaigned to ensure his victory in Malampuzha, the veteran leader said he did not find anything special about the “wonder kid” other than that he was Vellapally’s son.
“That qualification is enough for him to become vice president of Yogam. Other than that I don’t see any extraordinary qualification in him that can ensure my victory,” he said.
Achuthanandan said Natesan tried to insult him by calling him “Shikhandi” because of his ignorance. “The Mahabharata was a battle between truth and injustice. By calling me Shikhandi who was on the side of truth and dharma, Vellapally was installing himself on the side of the Kauravas,” he added.
On Vellapally’s charge that he was reading out the statements written by savarna people, Achuthanandan said; “In my office there are no savarnas or avarnas but only humans. I am very particular that I shouldn’t go wrong while quoting Sree Narayana Guru’s verses and that’s why I read out the written text,” he said.
On Natesan’s charge that he had given huge money, Achuthanandan said; “The people of Kerala will reject such charges with the contempt they deserve. I file all my property details before the Governor annually and there is not a single penny of Natesan’s in that.”
